Welcome

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe, treating more than 60,000 patients a year. The Trust is also the first UK centre to be officially accredited as a comprehensive cancer centre.

Based in Manchester, The Christie serves a population of 3.2 million people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire while more than a quarter of patients are referred from across the UK. They house one of the largest Radiotherapy departments in the world and the largest Chemotherapy department in the UK. They also provide highly specialised services for complex and rare cancers, as well as a wide range of support and diagnostic services.

This year The Christie was once again rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), becoming the first specialist trust in the country to be given its highest accolade twice. Ranked as the most technologically advanced cancer centre in the world outside North America, The National Institute for Health Research has named the Trust as one of the best hospitals providing opportunities for patients to take part in clinical research studies.

    The Christie Commitment

The Christie Commitment has been developed with staff and includes principles and behaviours. The Christie Commitment pledges describe what patients, and their families or carers can expect, as well as what staff can expect from each other:

    • Achievement and recognition

    • Learning and development

    • Healthy workplace

    • Communication and engagement

    • Proud of The Christie

The Christie Commitment helps everyone know how much of a difference they make to patients and gives the Trust the confidence to meet future challenges together.
