Castlefield Recruitment are delighted to be working as a retained partner with PlayPower and HAGS to identify a high calibre, commercially focused UK Finance Director to join their Selby based team in a newly created role.
HAGS operate as the European arm of the PlayPower Group, a US private equity owned group that is the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial recreational equipment, including playground equipment, park fitness equipment and park furniture.
PlayPower revenues are approximately $500 million, with HAGS operating at around $100 million with ambitious growth plans to grow to $200 million over the next 3 years, through organic growth and acquisition.
The UK Finance Director will hold responsibility for running the finance function for two entities:
HAGS UK – revenues of c.£18m derived from the sale and installation of play and fitness equipment to parks, commercial enterprises and housing developments
Tayplay – revenues of c.£3m derived from the manufacture and sale of rope net structures to UK and international distributors

- Management of a team of 5 finance staff in Selby and 1 in Perth
- Hold responsibility for production of management, statutory and consolidated reporting for 2 sites
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors and lead year-end audit process internally
- Lead on commercial reviews of product sales and margin analysis, project profitability, pricing, and factory financial metrics
- Hold full responsibility for the annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting and weekly cashflow forecasting processes
- Be instrumental in the development of ERP systems, and act as lead on a potential site system implementation
