Foreword

Thank you for your interest in the role of Head of Category – Corporate and Digital.  This role sits in our Lincolnshire ICS Procurement Team, and is part of the Procurement Senior Leadership team.

In Lincolnshire, our ICS procurement team works for all three main Trusts in Lincolnshire – ULHT (acute), LCHS (community) and LPFT (mental health).  It is an exciting time to be joining our team, as we have structured our team in a category led way, to ensure we can fully support our stakeholders throughout Lincolnshire.  The team have set category strategies for each of the areas we work with and are actively working to deliver value for money and improved patient services throughout Lincolnshire.

We have ensured that a procurement training and development programme is in place with all members of the team able to access their CIPS qualifications.  Looking at innovative ways of working, thinking outside of the box and working at pace to support our stakeholders are actively encouraged and some amazing transformations are underway in a number of areas, both led by and supported by procurement teams.

ULHT are on an improvement journey and key actions and improvements undertaken by the Board and all staff is coming to fruition.  The CQC were full of praise after their last inspection and although more work is needed, this Trust continues to improve and is on an exciting trajectory.

The NHS are seeing a number of market challenges, which pose new commercial issues on a daily basis.  Supporting our stakeholders and patients to ensure we get the best value for money and make the best commercial decisions is more critical now than it has ever been.

If you would like to be part of an award-winning and transformational team, who work at pace and actively seek to make a difference, then we want you to work with us.  We are looking for someone who would like a new challenge.  An individual who is passionate about procurement and getting the right commercial outcome but also someone with empathy for our staff and patients who can work to make changes and come up with new ideas.

We also would like someone who can nurture the Corporate and Digital team and help them develop and grow over the coming months and years.  NHS and/or experience in the Digital workspace would be helpful, but is not essential – the passion to drive and develop a team and new ways of working is essential.  If this sounds like it would be of interest to you and you can picture yourself joining our team and working to elevate procurement and commercial services in Lincolnshire, then we want to hear from you and we look forward to meeting you.

Sharron Reetham – Deputy Director of Procurement
