“After spending three and a half years working in the education sector, I joined Stoke-on-Trent City Council as a Senior Finance Business Partner supporting the Chief Executive’s and Resources directorates. “Having worked as an accountant in the private sector for over 10 years I joined Stoke-on-Trent City Council seven months ago as a Financial Accountant, I was excited about a new challenge and the chance to work in an organisation that benefits the local community.

Moving into local government finance was a significant change. However, from day one I felt welcomed and supported by colleagues across the organisation. The onboarding process and willingness of team members to share their knowledge helped me quickly develop an understanding of the local government environment and its unique challenges.
