Our Norwich campus gives high quality academic, social and cultural facilities to undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world.
Located near to the centre of Norwich, we’re England’s first UNESCO City of Literature. We’re also based on the Norwich Research Park, a world-leading centre for environment, health and plant science research. It’s also home to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Our richly diverse research base informs our outstanding teaching. Our world-leading academics are connected with society, government and industry alike.
Estates Strategy
The primary focus of the Estate Strategy is on the successful completion of Phase 1 of the Campus Development Programme, which is a £152m programme to redevelop one of the buildings in the Lasdun Wall, which forms the spine of our campus, and to plan for future phases.
Alongside this, the objectives of the Strategy focus on prioritised projects to address statutory and regulatory compliance and reduce the risk to university operations, a programme to redesign campus to reflect our interdisciplinary ethos and create thriving communities, the reduction of our carbon emissions so that we achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2045, and adopting technology to run our estate more efficiently.
We are looking at our future space needs and are planning to reduce the size of the estate, meeting our needs through efficient utilisation, and redevelopment of life expired buildings.
Our Campus
Although located in 320 acres of rolling parkland, virtually no part of the campus is more than a few minutes’ walk from anywhere else, so everything
is close at hand – the library, nursery, health centre, supermarket (incorporating a post office) and restaurants. Amongst the striking buildings is the UEA’s Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, which contains the Robert and Lisa Sainsbury Collection – one of the greatest art collections formed in Europe during the 20th Century.
The University has invested in new learning and teaching and research spaces, including a celebrated new Enterprise Centre that underpins its commitment to promoting student enterprise and entrepreneurship.
Sport and Recreation plays a major part in the life of the University of East Anglia, centred around the major Sportspark facility which is one of the most
successful community sport facilities in the UK. This accessible and affordable facility provides a diverse range of activities, and incorporates a 50m Olympic size swimming pool, indoor climbing wall, coaching resource centre and sports injury clinic.

Paul is a Principal Consultant within Castlefield’s Estates and Facilities division covering interim and permanent recruitment on a nationwide basis. With over 12 years’ experience in the market, he delivers a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise and an excellent track record delivering senior and executive appointments as well as ‘multi-hire’ campaigns within the Public and Private sectors.
