Welcome

At Yorkshire Cancer Community, our purpose is to ensure that people affected by cancer across Yorkshire have access to the support, information, and opportunities they need at every stage of their journey — from diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond.

We do this by acting as a trusted regional hub, amplifying the voices of patients and carers, delivering community-focused projects, and working in partnership with health, voluntary, and community organisations to improve cancer services across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Since becoming a registered charity in 2019, Yorkshire Cancer Community has grown into a respected and collaborative organisation; supporting thousands of individuals, families, and professionals each year through a wide range of activity:

  • A central online information hub offering trusted advice and signposting.
  • Patient VIEW – a long-established community panel ensuring patient and carer voices influence cancer service design.
  • Cancer SMART – a strategic partnership with West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance, promoting early diagnosis and cancer prevention.
  • Monthly newsletters, social media, and direct email and telephone support
  • Strong relationships with charities, community groups, researchers, and health partners across the region

As a small, agile charity with a wide remit, we work in a fast-moving environment where flexibility, collaboration, and compassion are essential. Our home-based team works closely with Trustees, volunteers, and partners to respond quickly to emerging needs and opportunities, always keeping people affected by cancer at the heart of everything we do.

A Small Charity with a Big Job to do.

Here at Yorkshire Cancer Community, we are dedicated to helping people affected by cancer in as many ways as possible, so that everyone who is affected knows where to go for help and support, and can live well with and beyond cancer.
