Stockport Homes Group (SHG) is an ambitious organisation, operating as a group structure and embedded within our local community. We are driven by strong values, our people, our culture and our passion for making a difference – delivering our Mission: “One Team, Transforming Lives”
What makes us unique is our vision: one where entrepreneurship and commercialisation go hand in hand with social impact. We are Stockport’s largest landlord, managing over 12,000 properties on behalf of Stockport Council and Private Landlords, as well as our own growing portfolio of new build homes.
As builders, landlords, and developers we believe in collective responsibility for more affordable housing. Equally, through a commitment to a range of wrap around services we look for ways to improve people’s lives: from advice and support on health and wellbeing, to employment, educational opportunities and help in the home. All our profit is reinvested within the group to maximise opportunities for those who most need our help.
Our Aims
Stockport Homes Group’s Corporate Plan 2026–31 and Delivery Plan 2026–31 set out our shared vision for the next five years: Transforming lives, strengthening connections, thriving together.
Our new ‘THRIVE’ aims have been developed with customers, colleagues, partners and Stockport Council. The two plans work side by side to guide how we will improve services, invest in homes and communities, and deliver long‑lasting social value across the Borough.
Both plans are connected through our updated set of organisational aims, known as THRIVE, which reflect the outcomes we want to achieve for customers, colleagues and communities over the next five years:
- Transform – Maximising resources and efficiency through change and creativity.
- Homes – Providing safe, sustainable homes and vibrant neighbourhoods.
- Relationships – Working collaboratively with partners to achieve more.
- Inclusion – Supporting customers to achieve positive outcomes.
- Values Driven – Being an inclusive, great place to work.
- Excellence – High‑quality, customer‑focused services shaped by insight and feedback.
While THRIVE contains six aims in total, each plan focuses on three:
- The Corporate Plan prioritises Transform, Relationships, and Values Driven, focusing on how we grow as a Group, innovate, and increase social value.
- The Delivery Plan focuses on Homes, Inclusion, and Excellence, showing how we deliver high‑quality housing services for the Council and local residents.
Our Locations
Our Head Office is in Stockport town centre, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the train station and less than 10 minutes’ walk from Stockport Transport Interchange.
